The Farmington Writers Circle meets again on Thursday, December 14, 2017, at at 6:30 p.m. at Entertainmart’s Hardback Café located at 3020 East 20th Street, Farmington, NM.Vicki Holmsten will be reading her short story, “Daphne Catches the Light”, at 6:30 p.m.
“Daphne Catches the Light” is a winter darkness and light story, which won second place in the 2013 Pasatiempo Writing Contest. Pasatiempo is the weekly arts magazine of the Santa Fe New Mexican.Dr. Holmsten is a writer, editor, consultant, Director of the Bisti Writing Project, board member of the New Mexico State Poetry Society, former professor of English at San Juan College, and one of the founding members of the Farmington Writers Circle and of the 4 Corners Poets.
Also on Thursday, Phil Slattery will lead a discussion on formatting e-books. We will also open the discussion on having a Writers Meet and Greet social event during Farmington’s summer artwalk.
The mission of the Writers Circle will be to promote Farmington area writers of any genre and skill level, to advise each other on publication, marketing, publicity, using social media, and establishing useful contacts within the local, regional, and national literary communities among many other writing-related topics. Anyone is welcome to join our group or to attend our meetings, there are no requirements for membership other than an interest in writing of any genre or style.
The Farmington Writers Circle normally meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6:30 at Entertainmart’s Hardback Café.
