Another way I deal with writer’s block is by writing or revising the bio/background of a character. This helps me get into his mindset. This helps me work out details so that his actions are logical. I don’t delve deeply into characters’ backgrounds in a novel, but having a coherent background in the author’s mind for a character helps keep the character’s actions consistent and logical.
