Quotation from Paradise Lost

One of my favorite quotations,  it says so much about human psychology, yet was written centuries before the science of psychology was conceived:

“The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven..”   Paradise Lost by John Milton
